It's considered cosmetic and has, as far as I know never been squashed in over a decade.
Now there is a few variants of the image bug that flashes up on the screen. To be sure it's the one I know of, you must not REBOOT but shutdown and then boot. Otherwise you may be seeing an image that happens to be in the graphic's card memory and it flashes up and then gets overwritten.
Now a bit of an explainer. PCs and Windows are not perfect. That is, from the very first PC to today it's been accepted that some cosmetic defects will happen. Only Apply took the other approach that the experience and display SHALL be clean.
Be sure you are not chasing either of these known cosmetic only issues.
Ever since windows 10 came out I have tried to change the "opening" boot display. I was able to add an account picture without issue. But that was it. I have a screensaver, I know I don't need one, but I like it. From time to time I do a complete "reset" of my computer just to keep it fresh. On boot, the "Dell" logo would appear, and then the default screen would appear with my account picture and then the desktop.
Two weeks ago I did another reset, and lo and behold the default screen was gone and one of my "images" from my "screensaver" folder was/is used instead of the "default" screen.
Can anyone tell me what settings made this possible. I have tried many different steps mentioned on Google in the "past", but to no avail.
I'm afraid to mess with success, but I know at some point and time I will do another "reset" whether on purpose or necessity.
Thanks in advance
