Regarding no audio for avi file

May 31, 2009 12:02PM PDT

Hi, I use a Mac OS X 10.4.11 with 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Ok, I have a movie file that is extension avi and when I play it, the video is no problem, but there is no sound. I am not very technical with all this codec stuff, but I use Realplayer. So I went ahead and opened an avi file that had sound and video and Realplayer shows what codecs are present, and that one video I checked showed XVID and .mp3. I'm guessing that XVID is the video codec and mp3 the codec that delivers the sound. So when I opened the NO SOUND avi file with Realplayer, the codecs were ms and XVID.
So I guess the "ms" means missing (missing the audio part of the codec). So how do i install or download the missing codec for this avi file? I really need the simplest method, nothing complicated. PLEASE HELP! Thanks.
