No you don't need any software for the psp
, you simply attach the psp via a usb to your computer and it comes up as an external hardrive. To get music on it you create a file named 'music' in the psp file, you then simply drag mp3's into this file for them to play. Movies are a little more difficult but still pretty easy, go to http://psp.connect.com/ and follow the setup instructions. In order to get home videos onto it you use psp video 9(google it) to encode them and then drag them into the MP_ROOT\100MNV01 folder you then name them under a 'MV4xxxxx' (x is any number)fromat. Then after sepeparating yor psp from your pc it should play from your memory card, there is a good chance you'll nedd to uprade to 512 mb+ for videos. If you have a mac i have no idea though. Hope i can help!
