Today's Windows installers (people) are not aware about all the drivers that Microsoft does not supply. Better than 9 in 10 new to Windows and even old hands forget that Microsoft does not fetch or install for us the drivers for motherboard, video and more.
Best of luck,
Bob
Just install W2K on a one-year-old generic computer. After installation was complete I booted up for the first real time it ask for the password then just as it brings up the Desktop it looks like the monitor is getting a refresh rate or pixel size it can?t handle then reboots on its own.
When I boot up in ?VGA mode? it works like it should. I have reset the refresh rate and the pixel size and even uninstall the display adaptor and when I let it boot up in normal mode it does the same thing.
