reformatting SSD

Sep 9, 2019 11:24AM PDT

I just bought a chromebook not realizing it has the chrome O.S. I have used products fro Microsoft since I have been using computers. How do I format the SSD on my chromebook so I can install Windows 8.1 on it. My laptop is a Samsung 500 series. You can answer using my email address. Thank you.

"I just bought a chromebook not realizing it has the chrome O.S."

That's kind of funny, lol. What was your first clue?

You may end up having to use Linux, like Mint, Ubuntu, or Zorin on it.

Did not know chrome had its own OS.

Hey jerk, i did not know had its own O S. That was my first clue smartass. I want an answer. Not someone who will be a jerk. If you can't give an answer without being a smartass, then my advice to us don't answer. Okay.

Consider that what you asked.

Is not going to have a good answer if the OP wants to install Windows on a machine that was designed for ChromeOS and never a thought for Windows.

There are often no drivers for the hardware and you are trying to install some 100 buck OS so you are out the cost of the ChromeBook, another 100 and ready to set fire to anyone that replies.

-> That aside, please get your money back and I'll work with you to find a good budget albeit from Groupon Windows PC.
