Reformatted hard drive, lost internet?

by BeTheBuddha / September 21, 2008 4:31 AM PDT

My Toshiba laptop crashed and I had to reformat the hard drive. I downloaded and installed all the drivers for my laptop from the Toshiba site, but I can't access the internet. It won't recognize that there is an internet connection.

I have Windows XP installed also.

This happened on a Dell computer I have. I'm not sure if I'm missing a driver or file.

I'm not really savvy with programming so please explain in lamen, pleas.e

I never got a restore CD when I purchased this laptop.

My dad did get a Toshiba recently but they have you create the restore DVDs. If you opted out of that then they either supply them when you call or sell them for very little. In either case you need to call it in.

Too late to get a restore CD, I think since I already reformatted the hard drive.

Then order the restore media.

HP still has them for free or cost of shipping. Ask Toshiba what they cost now.

Again, the install order is crucial. They should supply that at the very least.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
