reducing mpgs size to burn :(

by Jacquity / September 22, 2004 11:11 PM PDT

Hi Happy I've got some mpgs that are nearly 750 mgs each, and I want to reduce the size to burn them onto a normal cd. Has anyone got any suggestions for a free, simple to use (I'm australian, blonde and female!) program that I can find that will decrease them down to err burnable sized thingies? and will they then be able to be viewed on most comps if I send them to friends. Thanks for your help...stay safe Happy

Since VIRTUAL DUB is free and has DOCUMENTATION on its home page I won't duplicate such content here. All you need to do now is look with www.google.com for it.

Hint: Transcode it with Virtual Dub and select more compression...

i found that chopping of that 4-7 minutes of credits you never watch anyway 'sometimes' brings an mpeg to CD size...

why didn't u tell me u were a blonde!! - makes all the difference - now i know i need to explain things a little bit slower - lololol
As for Mpegs, not sure if u can compress them - think you can with some other formats like "avi" but have feeling Mpegs not - try and ZIP them, but i think you probably will only get about a 10% reduction - if u do happen to find such a program let me know.
