Question

redirect

Feb 26, 2015 2:43AM PST

couple of weeks ago I started getting "redirected" to ad sites from links within a web page, or any click on the web site. some of these are impossible to get out of without restarting to computer. how do I stop this and how do I keep from getting in there again? except for "point and click" I'm pretty much a computer dummie.

hijacking. Typically this kind of stuff gets installed when you install free software. Anytime you install something read and don't just click. Alot of times you intend to install something and you get asked questions before it installs what you want. I always read and make sure I answer no to everything except what I intend to install. Typically the actual program you want to install will be the last one. Watch for prompt to install virus checking software, Search engines such as ASK. What happens is since these programs are other companies pay them to distribute their search engines where they direct you to their own sites.
