The people who receive your E-mail will simply have security settings to prevent messges formed as HTML (like a webpage).
For you, this means E-mail as HTML to show pics immediately when opened, may fall afoul of both ISP and indvidual receivers' security settings. M$ have been shipping security patches for years to break this "feature" too, because HTML simply isn't secure.

Some spammer could send you an E-mail formed as HTML that as soon as you opened it activated unwanted code...it's a huge gaping security risk. Most users and ISP's trying to avoid spam, spyware, and active virus threats, would do well to disable E-mail formatted as HTML in one way or another. Of course that breaks the E-mail you send! 
Simply send pictures with E-mail by attaching them (like the rest of the secure world does) to get the job done.
