Red Eye

Mar 10, 2006 11:31AM PST

I just got my first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 5600. The Nikon Picture Project software it comes with has an automatic red eye fix button, but it doesn't touch the red eye on the dog. Even after the fix, she still looks like a demon with glowing red orbs. I really don't have any interest in any advanced picture processing, so I can't see getting a sophisticated program like Photoshop to fix this one little problem when I would never use 99.9% of it's capabilities.

I'm sure this is a question that probably gets asked often by newbies. I apologize if a similar question was answered recently and I didn't search far enough to find it.

You could use the lite version, Photoshop Elements, which

should allow you to correct the problem. Without image editing software, there really is no fix. Elements sells for about $100.

Thanks for the Info

I'll have to think about whether I want to spend $100 or not. I'm just a little surprised that the Nikon software can't deal with it. The fix button works OK on humans, but the red eye on pets is a lot more severe.
