recycler folder

Hey everyone, I ran across a folder the other day after doing a backup, called the recycler folder. I know it's part of the recycle bin. The folder contains a directory called things/my music that I created and deleted a long time ago. I'd like to rid myself of the contents of the recycler folder, but not the recycler folder itself. Would this do it? rd/s c:\recycler then y. If this command deletes the recycler folder itself will this also delete the recycle bin? If it does will the recycle bin be recreated the first time you delete something? Thanks

You'll need to set your backup program to ignore this folder. Microsoft does not provide a way to remove this folder. You'll also run into the "System Volume Information" folder with the same issue.

But if I use the cmd I stated, will it delete the recycle bin?

Try it. The OS will either not let you do it or will promptly recreate it.

If I am reading this correctly you wish to delete files in the recycle folder. This is AKA "Empty the Recycle Bin".

From Desk Top, right click Recycle Bin
-> left click empty recycle...

Or open Recycle Bin from desk top. In XP/ME on left is the command button to empty. Ditto in 98 if set to view as web page under views.
