Recovery Disks on a MBR damaged partition

by VinceXX / December 14, 2008 7:41 AM PST

Hello,

i need help generating hp recovery discs from a mbr damaged partition.

Partition Magic " fixed" de recovery partition and now i can't build the recovery discs. The HP Disc creator doesn't recognize the recovery partition. It's curious, because i do have all recovery partition files there, but the disk creator tool doesn't go on.

Anyone knows a solution ?

thanks

Wink

Sorry but...

We make the recovery disks BEFORE we need them. If you are trying to create them after a failure you should call HP up and order a set.

What does HP say?

I expect something like "We don't support it after you 'repaired' the MBR and our partition with a tool we don't support. But if you give us your creditcard number we'll be glad to send you the media you need."

Do you think this is an unreasonable answer?
And what did you expect to get here?

Microsoft, HP and just about everyone should give this answer -> Order the restore media.

Yes I bet for a price someone at HP will talk to you about this issue but the cheap exits are well known.
