Recovering 'Saved on My PC' email from PC harddrive

Feb 18, 2009 11:08AM PST

PC died and bought an iMac as replacement. Have my hardrive from PC (which I know is healthy) and really want to find a way to recover the many emails I had stored on my PC while an AOL member.

Is there any simple, cost effective way to get that AOL Filing Cabinet folder onto my iMac and be able to actually read it? Don't care about functionality of emails, just want to be able to read them.

If not, any suggestions?

Thanks much.

Without installing the AOl client software on the IMac,...

...I don't know of one. Furthermore, if the old hard drive is a Windows drive, you may have real issues trying.

Maybe someone else has an idea, though.

Maybe more trouble?

To get your drive working, you would need an external drive housing, USB would work. However, you would need that software on your mac to read those e-mail files. I have done this with outlook in the past, it was finding the data folder and swapping it out with the current one. however I do not know about this aol one you speak of. If you haven't already done so, get an external hard drive case and get your drive up, see if you can't navigate through it. Also, check to see if you can install that aol software on your mac, if you can't, you won't be able to migrate those files.
