And I can resist asking. Where is the backup to this? Hard drives continue to be temporary storage and we only lose what we didn't backup.
You won't be the last to lose it all.

I have a storage partition used only for documents, music etc. (no the system partition) that is encrypted with BitLocker in Windows 7 x86.
It's become unusable now, for some reason.
It's still being read as a BitLocker drive, and can also be unlocked using the password - the icon changes from locked (closed gold padlock) to unlocked (open silver padlock).
Each time I reboot Windows it appears as a locked drive/partition, which is normal.
However, I can't use it - it needs to be formatted, apparently.
What can I do - this is the really, really important partition - it contains all my work, essays, letters etc.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
