It ignores windows ownership and permissions. It's not like you have to learn Linux as noted at http://tips.oncomputers.info/archives2004/0401/2004-Jan-11.htm
That's 10 years ago and today's versions allow me to copy any file I wish off the old HDD and I never had to learn Linux.
I am pretty novice when it comes to computers, but I was able to remove my hard drive from my old nonworking computer and connect it to my new computer. I can open it, but my password protected user account is not visible. I tried the whole take ownership thing, but it didn't work. My old computer had windows vista installed and my new computer is running windows 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Trish
