recovering itunes purchased music after harddrive failure

Is there any hope? I had purchased over $200 in itunes music and my harddrive crashed. now I only have the stuff that was on my mini at the time and I am afraid to re-synch with itunes because I don't know if it will wipe out the little i have left. Is there any way to 1) recover my losses? or 2) save what I have on my mini? I have a PC with Windows XP installed. thanks in advance!

I would recommend you NOT synch with itunes. I haven't done it myself, but there is a way to load the contents of your ipod onto your hard drive. The site www.ipodlounge.com has a tutorial on how to do this. The tutorial might be floating around CNET somewhere also, but I know the ipod lounge site has it. Good luck!
