recovering itunes purchased music after harddrive failure

Is there any hope? I had purchased over $200 in itunes music and my harddrive crashed. now I only have the stuff that was on my mini at the time and I am afraid to re-synch with itunes because I don't know if it will wipe out the little i have left. Is there any way to 1) recover my losses? or 2) save what I have on my mini? thanks in advance!
