Recovering data from old hard drive

My laptop recently died and I would like to recover some data from the hard drive. I've already removed the drive but I'm not sure exactly which connector equipment I need and how to use it.

after you connecting the hard drive to another computer,

then you can recover data with data recovery software

i know a free one, called minitool data recovery, you can have a try, if you need, good luck.

there is no mention that the drive itself has died, then all the OP needs is Windows Explorer. It is built in.
