Recover Data From CD-RW Media

Dec 7, 2004 4:22AM PST

Imation CD-RW media that was formatted and has about 550 MB of data on it, both music and data.

I have 3 PC's with CD/RW buners's, no problem writing, reading and re-writing to this CD-RW media between the 3 PC's. 2 of these PC also have DVD-RW drives which have read and written to this CD-RW media also.

Yesterday I took this CD-RW media and placed it in a friends DVD-RW/CD-RW burner to copy a file off it onto his PC. As I ejected the CD-RW media it maked this media as read only. Thus I can no longer read the data on the CD-RW media.

Roxio 7 and Nero6 SE suite can read the CD-RW media data into an ISO file but when I try to read or extract
data from this ISO file I get errors and incompatible file system format.

Is there a way to recover this data from the CD-RW media?

Thanks

I am just guessing here. What happen if you right-click on the disk properties; can you change it from read only to achived? If all else failed; maybe you can do all this from the friend's computer (WAG). Good luck.

Try Isobuster. It's basic functions are free. (There is an advanced version that enables udf, macintosh formats for a price)
