What I did to force the machine to get to the BIOS was to unplug the HDD. After that I fear you have to chat with Samsung.
Also, I found a few models that I had to power up while holding down the F2 or such key.
Had installed Ubuntu 16.04 as dual boot with my Windows 7 on my Samsung NP700z7c-S01US laptop. Went to change some things with the install from a thumb drive and found I had no USB access and no Function keys were responding. I am down to a Boot Screen Tab and an Apps Tab on a rapid boot. I cannot access my BIOS anymore. I have tried F2 to access BIOS, F9 to get USB boot access, F8 for startup and nothing has worked. I have tried disconnecting the CMOS battery and the system battery then holding down the power button for as long as 5 minutes to clear the CMOS and get my BIOS back to factory default, all with no luck. At this point my laptop is a brick.
The laptop MOBO is not like the desktop units so their is no visible jumpers to do a physical hard reset of the CMOS.
Any help is appreciated.
