Question

Recording Programs From Cable Box

Mar 26, 2017 9:18AM PDT

I have a Toshiba D-R560KU DVD Video Recorder.
I would like to record some programs off of my Xfinity cable box and the only port on the cable box is an HDMI out. The video recorder has 1 composite out and 1 composite in port plus 1 component out and 1 HDMI out port.
Is there any way I can use the recorder to record off of my Xfinity cable box? Any help will be appreciated!

This is something hard coded into that box.

You can research HDMI to component convertors but the costs are so high that very few will go there.

Besides the agreements about recording cable.

Go back to a standard (SD vs HD) box, then you can do it, they have the proper fittings. You will lose HD ability however, unless you also include local TV broadcast using an outdoor antenna.
