Some "box" has to go between and believe it or not a PC/Mac is the cheap method.
Again, the adapter should cost about the same as a PC or Mac.
I have a Canon DVX3i video camera. It has a firewire connection to connect to the PC and do editing etc of the DV. It also has a USB connector for downloading the SD card still images and MP4 video.
I have a 250gb pocket external USB drive.
(1)Is there any way to record directly to the external drive connecting it directly to the camcorder. NOT going via the PC.
(2) If this is not passible because it is a USB drive, can a USB drive be converted to connect and run firewire.
Is there a small USB Male to Small Firewire male adapter that would work?
(3) Is this feasable or am I just (pissing in the wind)? If you are an Aussie just tell me I am dreaming.
