they can record for several hours. The battery charger, running off an inverter, could power it as long as necessary. You would have to rig up a mount and controls to turn it on and off. Some do have remotes. I don't know about the low light abilities of hard drive based recorders.
I want to record when I drive--record the road ahead.
I've been looking on the internet and at this point I'm pretty confused.
I've seen some devices that are a "camera" (a bullet camera) hooked up to a digital (DVR) recorder. I've seen some "helmet cam" packages for $300-$400 and you still have to add the DVR!
Maybe I would be better off just buying a camcorder and making some kind-of dashboard mount. But, it would have to record for up-to a couple of hours, be powered by a hook-up to the cigarette lighter, and be good in varying light conditions.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions.
Thanks,
M.
