General discussion

recording a third program

Aug 27, 2008 11:28PM PDT

I currently have directtv and a receiver that records 2 shows at once but with the fall shows coming up, I need to record several of the new shows at once. I also have an antenna for local channels attached to the TV. I have a directtv receiver I am no longer using that I could move to this TV. Can I use the old receiver I have just for the local channels off my antenna

It is worth a shot, not sure about how DirectTV will read your inactive receiver though.

You might just have to stick with recording 2 shows and watching the 3rd on hulu.com or whatever website the network uses to put up their free episodes. (hulu.com has all NBC and FOX shows from all their networks)

It's worth a shot but not likely to work.

You could get a dvd recorder for the over-the-air channels.
