Reconnecting wireless printer

Oct 10, 2009 4:22AM PDT

Have just had to reinstall everything on my wireless netbook, but can't reconnect to the Epson wireless printer. I went into programs menu and selected Epsonnet config. but it wants an administrator password which I don't have as I have never created one. I tried the password given by ISP and also the one to get into the modem, and also the security key for the wireless connection. None of them work, can anyone help please ?
Windows XP SP3, 160gb hdd. 1 gb ram.

What, specifically, needed to be reinstalled

and what might have been the reason? Was there a problem? As for an administrator password, if you've never created one, it's typically blank or uses some sort of default. If it's just a password for the Epson software, I'd check the installation manual to see if there's a default password. It's usually something like "admin" or "password" (no quotes).

The computer would not boot as it said there was no hal.dll file it had to be reinstalled. I tried to fix that without success, so had to reinstall XP and reinstall everything else, and the wireless connection to the printer needs reinstalling.

Just a guess here about the password

Ok, you are trying to configure your wireless printer. It will connect to a wireless router or AP. The router or AP should have a password for it's security service. It will be the same password you netbook uses to connect to the router or AP.

I tried everything, and eventually got onto Epson, they think the print server may be faulty, so have returned it to them for examination
