General discussion

recommended software?

Apr 27, 2008 4:42PM PDT

Can you suggest a mac-friendly software that will sample individual frames of a quicktime video (.mov) and then be up-loadable to then display them as sample screens one could post onto a bulletin board as a series of grouped thumbnails?

QT Frame Capture
Jun 2, 2008 3:13AM PDT

When in doubt about how to do something in Mac software, going to the "Help" pull-down menu in the software is a great way to get answers. I did this in QT Pro and typed in "Grab Still Image" and it gives a list of applicable answers. The first option told everything I needed to know about your question: Move playhead to frame you want to capture. Go to "Export" and choose Export "Movie to Picture". You can then click on "Options" to choose the image format of your choice. By default I think QT Pro will save it as a .pct format, but you can choose jpeg if you want.

You beat me to it Dan, thanks.

Having no QT Pro on the office machine, I was putting this off until I got to the house.

You saved me a task.
