Recommended download sites?

Sep 21, 2005 10:18AM PDT

Hi - a newbie here, and I'm looking for some recommended sites for downloading music. Are there any sites that you would recommend, or others that I should stay clear of?

Thanks, FWD

I use Limewire and it works good for me. I download alot of songs and such and ive been putting songs on my mp3 player. but kazaa is one i would stay away from becausxe ive heard that that one has the most viruses. so just go to www.limewire.com, and get the free version unless you wanna pay for the real one.

Hey,
I have been a dj for about 6 years i know tons of music downloading programs. 1. There is napster...I DONT RECCOMEND IT THOUGH, I quit napster about 4 months ago. The reason is they charge about 10 bucks a MONTH!!! Thats not even including the 1 buck per song + I started having problems on the 20 songs i purchased..I could not put it on a CD... so i called napster tech support and they talked to me for about 1 and ahlf hours and the guy was mentaly ill he talk so slow and really soft....Then he said i need to re install windows!!! SO I QUIT IT AND LOST 25 bucks!!!.............2. Theres itunes...They are great the only charge about 1 dollar per song and no monthly charges and if you need help tech support is outstanding...I recommend them.......3. There is free downloading programs which get you VIRUSES..so it is better to use paid services.

Good luck

I have to disagree

I use limewire too and it's great- no problems, no viruses, just fast good music access. And the thing about napster- i DO reccomend it BECAUSE of it's monthly pay- you can download, say 200 songs or whatever- and NOT SPEND 200 DOLLARS. this is why i reccomend it. I'm not saying that iTunesis bad or anything, and honeslty i think there all the same basically, rhapsody, iTunes, or whatever. But napster has an option for monthly downloads, so as i said before, you can download say 300 songs without spending 300 bucks. And it does also have that a dollar an mp3 feat. too. But i use limewire, because then u whud really have to know what yur buying if u choose those purchasing sites. What if want something else- a different mp3 or u forgot to download that one mp3 u really wanted- you wud have to go back and spend more money. limewire or bearshare or what. you just go back to it and get it- without burning yur pocket. You wud almost have to PLAN OUT what you want to get and think of longterm songz that you really want.
