recommendation: standard def. videocam

Clearly editing Hidef video still has issues.

So, kindly recommend a reasonably priced Standard Definition videocam for home use.

The two main priorities are:

Good video quality
Ease of transfer to PC

PS. As DVD hybrid videocams are known to produce poorer quality video, I will not consider those.
