My Canon ELURA40 is on its last breath. I wanted to get the Canon ELURA 100, which I find out is being discontinued and there is only a couple of online retailers carrying this model. Not sure it's a good idea to buy a product that's being discontinued...even though this camcorder has received great reviews. I'm looking for a camcorder that is reliable for capturing footages of the family, kids, etc. Any recommendation? I'd like to keep the cost within $500.
