There really isn't a heck of a lot of difference until you start getting into the 'kids' portables- like what you see sold at Target/Wal-Mart orTtoys-r-us. The build quality can be horrible though compared to a 'regular' portable from Best Buy, etc. Do a little poking around in the stores where you can actually view the device output to a TV. I guarantee it won't be that tough to find one for your church folks.
I'm a pastor serving two small country churches. We are looking for a portable DVD player that we can loan to homebound elderly members, so that they can watch DVD recordings of our worship services. Because these folks are NOT tech-savvy, simplicity is a major concern. Ideally we'd like to find a player with a couple of large, easily visible controls (Play/Pause and Volume). We don't need swivel or collapsible hinge screens, lots of small buttons, or on-screen menus.
Even though I'm a bit of a feature-freak myself, I know that SIMPLE is best for these users. Any recommendations?
