Recommendation for basic & inexpensive VHS camcorder please

Jun 1, 2006 3:00AM PDT

Looking for a recommendation for an inexpensive VHS camcorder. It will be used in Mexico by a family for home videos and they have no access to a computer so we're really looking for a basic but well-performing unit that will create tapes that are playable in their grandparent's VHS VCR.

Buy a VHS C

Go to Walmart and buy a VHS ''C'' camcorder for about $250.00. It's surprising, but they still make them. And the VHS ''C'' tapes will play in a regular VHS VCR with an adapter that should be included.
