Recommend me a digital camera ($250 to $325)

Hi, I am fairly new to the digital camera world. I am on the market in buying a digital camera. I am willing to shell out $250-310. So far I have not narrowed any cameras yet, but I'm looking at this below:

Kodak EasyShare V530
Canon Powershot SD450
Nikon Coolpix S1 Digital Camera

Basically, what I look for in a digital camera, first and foremost is the picture quality. I want a camera that has a pretty good picture quality (I'm sure we all want that). Secondly, I want something slim and stylish.

I really like the Canon Powershot SD450, but I also like the Kodak V530 (the red color one, it looks so cool). Please any advice and recommendations is highly appreciated. I might go out and get the SD450 or Kodak, but I'm leaning mroe towards SD450 unless someone here changes my mind and makes me see that there are other ones that are better, lol.

go with the Canon. Kodaks are always well priced with good features (such as screens and easy to use) but definatley don't live upto quality and style that a canon has. Kodak has only been doing cameras just recently to keep up with the digital faze, and as much as they know film, it dosen't mean they know cameras. Canon is your best bet. The Nikon is nice, but outdated.

kodak was key in the invention of digital photography

kodak was one of the first and most influential participants in digital photography and holds the most patents in digital photography to date. your comment would be more appropriate if you switched all the "canon" with "kodak".
