You maybe out of luck finding a non Dell motherboard. The board provided from dell is designed for that specific computer, meaning its layout, and the positioning of the I/O ports are a custom design
I got a Dell Precision Desktop from a friend of mine. The only problem is that it has a bad motherboard. Buying a new motherboard from dell is $600+ and I am pretty sure there are better ones out there for at least half.
Excuse me for being an idiot but this is what I know:
Uses a 2.93ghz Intel Xeon CPU http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=39719
Uses 6 Memory Sticks at 2gb each (2rx8 pc3 it says on the stick)
Uses an NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800 Video Card http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_quadro_fx_1800_us.html
My power supply is 500watt, and it has a 24pin Connector. It also has another 8pin connector which I have no Idea on what purpose it serves.
I looked on newegg but I have no idea on what the technical requirements are for my items. Any Sugguestions, or at least any idea on what I should be looking for? (socket type, memory type, video connector type?)
