General discussion

recognition

I run Win 2000 SP4 and have difficulty getting an MP3 player recognized. There is a setting in some player menus which allows recognition--I have done this on a Sansa player of a specific model, but can't remember what the setting is called. Can anybody help?

The mode I used was MSC

However that may not be the right name (they tend to rename it to drive mode or such.) I will not chase down all the possible names.

Different MP3 Connection Types

My LG player's Connection Settings offers Media Device (MTP) or Romovable Disk (MSC) as options -- the former involves using Windows Media Player to manage downloads to the player, latter is self explanatory (and doubtless infinitely preferable).
