Patsy,
I don't believe Word is smart enough to recognize a part of a letter as something that should be put in different document automatically.
A manual copy/paste wouldn't be too difficult to do it and better than retyping. And, for me, it would be necessary, in fact.

I am trying to help a friend who tells me that until last week he was able to open a new document in Word, type a letter, and then when he was ready to print it, go to Envelopes and Labels - and the recipient's address would automatically show up in the preview window.
He says that suddenly that is not happening (worked last week, not working this week). The window is blank. I've been unable to help him because I didn't realize that Word could do that.
He insists he's not using mail merge or addresses that are already in any database, just the addresses that he types in the body of the current letter.
Is he crazy? I've tried every help menu I can find. We are both using Office 2000.
Thanks,
Patsy
