Hello guys,

A few days ago I ordered a JBL SCS 200.5 5.1 Home cinema set on internet just a bit too fast. I want to connect it to my computer and I didn't notice it required a receiver.
Can you please suggest me the cheapest reciever in the market which is compatible with it as i have already invested 25k in it and dont want to invest much

Let me say it different.

The home cinema system has inputs for audio and video.
The computer has outputs for audio and video.

So it seems that all you need is the right cable(s) to connect the outputs of the PC to the inputs of the home cinema system. Since you didn't tell what outputs your computer has, nor what inputs the home cinema system has (although with the model number you give that could be found on the net) I can't tell more.

That 25k, are that UK pounds or USA dollars?

Take another close look at it

The OP is correct. That particular surround speaker system does require an AVR with 5.1 surround sound options. A PC's not going to cut it Wink

Depends on the sound card, maybe?

Anyway, it's difficult to see how you would get real 5.1 surround sound from a mp3 file you bought from amazon.

Takes a little more work.

Maybe you are looking at another JBL rig(?)

That one clearly has LFE connections that require the sub-out of a real AVR. Really not PC speakers per se. But I hear you about working with good sound cards in general Wink

I'm a little puzzled though. How do MP3 files from Amazon factor into this discussion(?) His first post does not mention anything besides finding a proper amp to drive the home cinema (theater) speakers.

I don't know what you can buy in India

But if you look online at either (or the US equivalent), you may be able to find a 5.1 receiver for $100-150 that would suffice (even refurbished). Sorry I don't know what products you have at your disposal. What you use however should have 5.1 surround sound at the very least. Just don't buy any type of 'All in One' system with proprietary speakers. It should be a standalone AVR with 5.1.
