For a clean installation (if this is what you want because it's not clear from your description) you need:

- Windows CD kit, COA label with the Product Key

- Drivers for your unknown hardware configuration

- Various CDs for your unspecified software applications, that might also require CD Keys.

Good Luck,

With the newer Windows, one doesn't need to format or even partition the drives outside the XP installer. In fact, I see many installations that are gaffed by booting a dos disk and use of fdisk/format.

Instead just boot the XP CD and use it's native tool to remove what partitions you want, create what you want and begin the install.

Type boot.ini into google.com to understand that item.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
