Receiving Redundant Text Attachments to Plain Text Email

Recently I began receiving text message attachments along with all the plain text messages I'm receiving in my mail client (MS Outlook).

This is really annoying as nearly every message now appears to have an attachment but all that's contained is a repeat of the mail message itself. I'm hoping someone can guide me through the process of correcting whatever configuration is causing this.

The only changes I've made recently is switching my DSL modem to one that requires user authentication (PPPoE).

Anyone know why this has started to occur?

that you have set Outlook to display only plain text emails, and not emails in HTML format.

But I might be wrong with this.
