Receiving error message concerning a system file cbidf2k.sys

I am attempting to re-install Windows XP home to my 8 GB Hard Diskon my laptop. I am using the Windows XP 6 floppy disk
method because my system will not boot from the CD,the system BIOS has been set to boot from floppy drive as #1 boot device, then cd, then hard drive. when the floppy disks have loaded i attempt to reinstall windows, but keep receiving an error message which I do not understand ........., ive formated the hard drive and it still occurs, and I tried using bootcfg /scan in the recovery console but it fails!?!?!?
THE bsod(Blue Screen of Death) says that a system file " cbidf2k.sys " at address FC902A14 base at FC902A14 , date stamp 00000000.

Is this a message indicating I may have a faulty memeory module or is this file ( cbidf2k.sys ) just missing from where it
belongs, or possiby missing ??? If so where can I get this file ??

Is there something plugged into the PCMCIA slot or USB ports?

Remove those.

Sadly, that points to possible hardware errors.
