Question

Receiver and surround sound question.

May 12, 2016 10:32AM PDT

I have a Technics SA-DX940 receiver. It's was purchased in 2001. I have it hooked up to a KLM Home Theater speaker system HT 9900, ( I know it's not a great speaker system), the problem I am having is that all 5 speakers don't always work. In the SFC, (sound field control) mode, only the Surround Sound, Club, and Live settings work with all 5 speakers but in the Hall and Theater mode only Yhe center and front speakers produce sound. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Clarification Request
I found a manual

Setup looks to be impossible without the manual and that DSP knob seems to play a role too.

About page 21 seems to explain it to me. Those modes are applied to stereo content so it looks like it's working per the old manual to me.

I put the manual up at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/29864315/sadx940.pdf for 24 hours so we can read from the same page.
