Receipt of attachments

For some reason I am unable to receive attachements (photos, files, etc) in my MSN Messanger. This problem just started recently. I receive a message that states something to the effect that the file is not allowed to download because it may be dangerous. I am at a loss, and am missing out on a lot of photos from family and friends. help please
