I thought...

... that auto manufacturers send out recall notices. If you didn't get one on your pickup, maybe it's not too late. Happy

I had one recall about 12 years ago. So I made an appointment to have the part replced- some gizmo that they said would make the engine just stop.

Wouldn't you know it.. on my way to the dealership, the engine stopped about a mile from my house. Luckily, there was a phone booth nearby. They sent a wrecker, at no charge to me.

Beleive me I read the recall, too late
May 12, 2006 12:36PM PDT

Truck was brought used, but at the time would have qualified. It was under the 150k miles limit and/or 12yrs. beyond it being build. Heck, my problem though I NOW know how to deal with it w/o a repair, it would have been nice to get it done for "free". I just happened to check that recall website for another matter and was OK for a lawn mower. This is what I like about th www, alot of useful info if you know where to search. -----Willy Happy

to issue a recall on some humans...not to do away with them, of course, but just do some tweaking.... or replace parts that don't meet certain standards or fail prematurely. Happy

sysrestore to remove evil

interesting concept. why the parasite called evil has not been purged by the universal conscience immune system is one of the unsolved mysteries. Who gets to click the mouse?

Perhaps good and evil are relative terms
May 13, 2006 10:09AM PDT

Consider yourself to be on a straight line of infinite length with good to the right and evil to the left (or reverse the two if political bent obscures your definition of left and right). Then consider that the intensity of good and evil increase/decrease as you move back and forth on the line. What happens is that you feel the effect of your movement but time causes the effect to diminish and return you to a neutral state. Let's presume you have slid far to the evil side but have paused. Because the line is of infinite length, there is still just as much good on one side as there is evil on the other....or so it seems. Now here comes someone from the good side sliding your way and stops to chat. He tells you he feels the presense of greater evil but you argue otherwise...seems fairly normal to you here once you've gotten used to it.

Are you with me here?? If not, lets put it in simple terms. Bring back your great grandmother and take her to an average Hollywood movie today that would make few people blush. Tell me she would not be horrified. Wink

I don't have to get g-gm

my mother is 90. Healthy, mobile, alert, but hard of hearing. She falls asleep watching HBO, after its more family friendly programming. Cut to 3 am and incredibly loud sex noises are coming from her room. If she wakes up she watches in absolute horror and fascination. And she can't believe the nudity, etc. in your basic r-fare. And she has added 'whack em' to her vocabulary.

keeping it simple: a line extended ad infinitum, curves due to gravity, etc. becoming a circle. classic yin/yang symbol. obvious conclusion: good and evil are equal partners of the whole. which gives us the pendulum metaphor of right/left

Gravity only exits in the presense of matter
May 13, 2006 10:52PM PDT

Thus, a straight line can exist, in theory, in a two dimensional plane. It does not have to become circular. In reality, an object (matter) given a push to travel unimpeded in the relative vacuum of space would not travel in a straight line but would wobble and change speed continually due to the effects on it by other existing matter. As for good and evil being equal partners, I would say ''no''. But, humans need a reference point to differentiate one from the other. My diatribe only suggests that the reference point can change and we can lose our recognition of earlier conclusions as to which (good or evil) category something lies in.

of course

a line exists in 2d. blueprints, etc. of course now we use cad. as you point out " wobble, change speed .....effect of existing matter" so gravity plays a role. light which exhibits the properties of waves and particles is also affected by gravity. I heard it called 'wavicle' theory. we see events described in light years. there must be an observation point on the other side of a supernova, etc. 360 degrees of observation.

the chinese symbol illustrates that black/white, good/evil,and right/left(not enough keystrokes for all examples). they wax and wane but equal in their potential.

I would'nt get too hung up on a Chinese symbol
May 14, 2006 2:27AM PDT

It does not replace solid logic or science. In a sense, the words ''good'' and ''evil'' are also symbols in that they require explanation to be understood. Once fully understood, we just substitute the word for the other verbage....conversational efficiency so to speak.
At this point, my head is about to explode anyway and it's time to loll about in the yard and garden. Happy

Good and evil are not equal
May 13, 2006 10:54PM PDT

Good is huge and evil is tiny. That's why there is/was/will be more good than evil
