Rec's For The Best 42" HD Plasma Without A Tuner/Speakers...

...The tuner functions are going to be handled by an HD cable box and sound will be handled by an external amp with speakers (probably Polk).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Best 42" HD Plasma

Having tracked reviews and falling prices for 3 years, I was exactly where you are....until about 6 weeks ago.

For me, it's all about the picture, and if you don't need speakers or a tuner (as was my case), the clear winner was Panasonic. I went with the commercial 50 inch, but Panasonic makes the exact model in a 42.

I've found no better picture quality, and believe me...I spent hours and hours comparing before I purchased. For the last several weeks, I've put this new model through the paces and am EXTREMELY pleased with the picture quality as well as the price I paid for it.

I'm also connected to HD Digital Cable. Now working on upgrading my surround sound system to equal the picture quality of the Panasonic.
