Just in case anyone was thinking of replying to this, I spoke to an IT guy at work today and after exploring everything else he suggested removing the RAM from two the slots.
I did this and still got no signal but pressed the button on the DVD drive and when it opened the whole thing spang into life and booted up!
So it seems to be sorted and hopefully anybody who has the same problem may find this post useful.
Hi everybody I used to run a Packard Bell 6810 SLI till a week ago.The motherboard was close to death but I upgraded the original 2 X Gigabyte 6800GT GPU's to 2 X 8800GT GPU's which I obtained used from eBay.With the new GPU's it ran well but the Mobo problems persisted.
I decided to rebuild and eventually used the following combo -
ASUS M4N82 Deluxe Mobo.
AMD Athlon II 635 CPU (This and the Mobo were bought preassembled).
Coolermaster 700W Silent Pro modular PSU
4 X 2GB DDR2 667 RAM
I assembled it very carefully and cleaned all parts which I retained (the two HDD's and the optical drives) but I disconnected the front panel which has a VideOH and an IF port because I never use it and it saved some wires.
When I power it up the Mobo LED lights up and all 6 fans (Northbridge,CPU , 2 Case Fans and both GPU's start running and the PC makes the characteristic "revving up" sound, but the monitor says "No Signal".
Since each GPU has two VGA ports I have tried attaching the VGA cable to each of them; the Mobo is Tri Sli capable and I've tried moving the GPU's to each slot.
The only thing I haven't done is remove the RAM, but it is securely seated so there seem no point.
My OS was W& Ultimate 64 Bit.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
