Question

Rebuilding My Website

Aug 13, 2013 2:19AM PDT

Sorry for asking you to re-invent the wheel, but the thread I was going to follow and post on was locked. My crazy schedule doesn't leave much time to surf the forum for the information I need.

Prior to my computer crash and replacement with a laptop that runs on Windows 7, I used Claris Home Page for my website design. It did everything I needed and the learning curve was great. Since Home Page wasn't compatible with my new computer/OS, I haven't updated my website in quite a while.

I tried to use the website design element in MS Publisher, but it was difficult to follow and use. After looking over one of the recent threads on website design software I downloaded PageBreeze, but it just made a mess of the page I was starting with in my re-design. Maybe I just need more practice and going through their tutorials again, but needless to say I'm not getting my website updated.

Can someone steer me to a very easy to use, free or low cost, program to re-design my website?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claris_Home_Page seems to show it runs on Windows 7. Why change?

There are many web site authoring programs so I would never be able to select one for other folk. WordPress seems to be a current favorite system.

Claris Home Page
Aug 15, 2013 1:51AM PDT

I attempted to install Claris Home Page under Windows 7, but it would not work. Even attempting to use the compatibility mode failed. I think it was related to the whole 32-bit/64-bit thing.

Thanks for the tip on WordPress. I'll check it out.
