Question

Reboot?

Jan 2, 2016 4:24AM PST

I was having a problem with a HP printer and was instructed to uninstall and reinstall, I did this and then entered Ctrl, Alt, F8 as instructed. Now all I have is a black screen with a Quick display of No Signal. I'm an older guy with limited knowledge of current systems ( my knowledge base dates back to early 70s, punch cards, fortran ect. ) Thanks for any help

I've never had printer problems that were solved by uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Drivers don't change. Who told you to do it? Not that it should harm, but it's unlikely to help either.

Then that ctrl+alt+f8. Where did you enter it (during the BIOS part of the boot, during the Windows part of the boot, in Excel, ... ?). What is it supposed to do and where can we read that instruction?

That black screen with "No Signal" means that the video out slot (VGA, DVI, HDMI?) had power, but no signal. It will disappear if you turn the PC. What happens then if you reboot (and don't press any but the normal keys)?
