My idea is to shutdown, remove the AC cord for about 10 minutes and try again. Yes, put the AC cord back in just prior to the try again step.
For some reason my Sony Vaio Pc won't reboot completely. The reboot takes me to a black screen with the safe mode options on it. It also counts down 30 seconds to reboot. All the safe mode options do not work.
The only different thing done today was that I downloaded this application: AMI Gif Construction Set Pro from http://www.handyarchive.com/free/easy-gif-animation/. Installed fine on my laptop. Installed it onto my Vaio.
Worked fine, closed the gif program and left for a while. Pc-cilling did an automatic virus scan which turned up nothing. Came back and tried to open up a saved web page. Then the pc stopped functioning properly.
