hi,
make sure sata hard disk is the first boot device and no cd/floppy is in the drive , also make sure that the wires are firmly connected to the hard drive.
Good luck

I just built a new pc with these specs:
MSI K9A2 Platinum AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.1GHz Dual-Core Processor
CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM 1066
Samsung Spinpoint F1 320 GB S-ATA HDD
EVGA nVIDIA GeForce 9800GT 512MB DDR3 PCI-E 2.0
CD-RW Drive & DVD-ROM drive (both are IDE)
Floppy Drive
Got everything put together and started up, can get into BIOS just fine. Initially it was starting up with a No Array is Defined message, but after reading some posts and tinkering with the BIOS that no longer comes up, as I only have the one SATA hdd and don't need to set up RAID.
In the BIOS I set up boot sequence as 1) CD-RW (IDE) 2)DVD-ROM (IDE) 3) SATA hdd. Now when I start up I get the message "Reboot and Select proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device and press a key. I've got a fresh copy of Windows XP in the CD drive and can here the drive spin up, but nothing happens. What do I need to do to get this machine up and running?
