I was so frustrated at consistently getting black bars all four sides of 16:9 DVD movies on my new 32" 16:9 HD LCD TV that I actually went back and read the documentation on my old DVD player: a Daewoo manufactured November 2001.
Duh. Turns out all I had to do was go to Setup on the DVD player and re-set its info for the TV to Wide, instead of Standard. Voila, now that the DVD player knows it is connected to a widescreen TV, the movie fills the screen; no black bars.
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
