Rear Projection TV's Sony Bravia VS Samsung what's best?

by htperth / December 7, 2006 11:41 AM PST

I'm looking to buy a roughly 55 inch Rear Projection TV and have come down to 2 brands Sony and Samsung. I am getting the Sony much cheaper at AU$ 2500 and the Samsung for roughly $1000 more. The models are
Samsung 56 Inch SP56K3HX and the Sony Bravia 55IN BRAVIA 3LCD TV KF55E200.

I do not mind other models of Sony/Samsung as long as the size is close to 50". Is it true that Sony uses Samsung parts?

What would be the best TV to go for?

Bravia is one of the best RPTV made to date and I would rather have it over any Samsung.

Sony and JVC LCoS sets they are so much better than ANY LCD RP sets!!!
Check them out before you buy.
"Is it true that Sony uses Samsung parts?" Yes, no and maybe! In Japan companies use each other parts, from small ICs up to the whole unit and just change the name on the from panel, this is standard operating procedure there. John

SXRD less expensive too
by bevillan / December 8, 2006 1:03 AM PST

You can get a 50" SXRD for about $2000-$2300 right now which is alot less than a Bravia at the similar size. I think the 55" SXRDs are in the mid $2000 range too.

I have the 50" SXRD and I love it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
